Plantivorous is a term used to describe an animal that exclusively consumes plants. However, there are several other words which can be used as synonyms for plantivorous including herbivorous, frugivorous, granivorous, and folivorous. Herbivorous refers to animals that primarily feed on plant matter, while frugivorous animals consume mainly fruits. Granivorous animals exclusively feed on seeds and grains, whereas folivorous animals are known for consuming leaves.
