Ullmannite is a rare mineral that belongs to the sulfide mineral group. It is made up of copper, nickel, and arsenic which is why it is also referred to as copper nickel arsenide. Due to its rareness, there aren't many synonyms for ullmannite, however, it is sometimes called nickel bloom in reference to its shiny appearance. Other technical synonyms for ullmannite include copper-nickel-arsenic, copper bloom, and lazarevite. Ullmannite is found in metallic sulfide veins in a range of locations globally, including Madagascar and Russia, and has attracted attention from mineral collectors due to its unique composition and scarcity.
